Movement claims responsibility for police ambush

An armed group known as the National Movement for Change claimed responsibility for the attack on a police car carrying salaries in Mukjar last Monday.

Adam Hushim Berayma Dahab identified himself as the secretary general of the movement and told Radio Dabanga that the group captured two cars, including weapons and the salaries in the ambush.

He said they captured two policemen named Ibrahim Muhammed Abdullah and Muhammed Hussein Muhammed Ali who are being treated well by the movement according to international laws on prisoners of war.

The leader said the attack was in response to attacks by Abu Tira and police on Darfuri civilians and their overall aim is bring down the regime in Khartoum.
