NISS vehicle ambushed by unknown armed group between Kutum and Al-Fasher
Two members of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) were killed and three others abducted Friday on the road from Kutum to Al-Fasher, at approximately 15 kilometers outside of Kutum. They were ambushed by an unknown armed group, believed to be a pro-government militia.
A witness told Radio Dabanga that an armed group believed to be a pro-government militia ambushed a NISS vehicle carrying five people.
The ambush resulted in the abduction of three NISS members and left two other members killed. It was said that the deputy director of NISS in Kutum, Yousef Ibrahim Bassi, was among the fatal victims.
